BORN TO LEAD DOG TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
BORN TO LEAD DOG TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I believe owners must accept responsibility for their dog's behavior and learn how to communicate in a way dogs naturally understand. My training is built around clear communication, fair leadership and consistent expectations. I firmly believe dog training works best when the owner is educated first. This is what many board-and-train programs miss. If your dog does not respect you, or you cannot control your dog's excitement, fear or dominance, then no amount of obedience training will ever solve the problem.
Over the years I've learned one simple truth...
Obedience is something a dog does. Understanding is something a dog lives.
A dog can know every command in the book and still be anxious, reactive, aggressive or completely out of control. Lasting behavior change happens when owners understand why their dogs behave the way they do and learn how to guide them through everyday life.
No matter the breed, age or current behavior, I've found that when we focus on the small things every day, most of the big problems never develop. What you're left with is a calm and well-mannered dog. When I say I'm a dog trainer, it's really the owners I'm training. That's why my approach produces lasting results. Bad behavior is usually the result of inconsistent leadership and a lack of structure, not a lack of obedience commands.
Dog training is constant. Every interaction inside your home, every walk, every car ride and every trip to the dog park is an opportunity to teach your dog something. Chances are your dog already knows what sit, down, stay and come mean. The problem is they often choose not to listen. That's because obedience alone doesn't create respect, trust or engagement. I can teach you how to change that.
Many people believe that if their dog knows obedience commands, it is properly trained and prepared for whatever life throws at them. In fact, if you tell me your dog isn't trained, I'll probably tell you that it is. It's simply been trained to ignore you because you've never shown it a better alternative. Dogs repeat behaviors that work for them. My job is to teach you how to change that.
When owners provide clear guidance, fair corrections and consistent leadership, dogs become happier, more relaxed and far easier to live with. Your leadership earns your dog's trust, respect and willingness to follow. Without it, dogs naturally begin making their own decisions and creating their own rules.
There is no shortage of dog training advice online. I've studied virtually every major training philosophy and after more than 30 years of working with thousands of dogs and their owners, I've learned what consistently works in the real world. I'll teach you the behavioral principles that apply to every dog regardless of breed, size or age. More importantly, I'll teach you how to recognize problems before they become habits and how to influence every aspect of your dog's behavior through practical, everyday interactions.
My approach has helped thousands of families build calmer, happier relationships with their dogs. I'll give you the knowledge, confidence and skills to become the leader your dog wants to follow so you can finally enjoy the dog you've always wanted.
